Hello there!!! Now I will show you an example of comparison and contrast.
Comparison in writing discusses elements that are similar.
Contrast in writing discusses elements that are different.
Reading or Watching Screened Versions
Reading books and watching movies have a lot in common, but there are also some differences that make readers stick to reading books or stick to movies.
Reading books and watching movies is similar because they tell the same story, they give the reader or audience the same feelings after reading or watching the story. The reader may feel sad about the story in a book, while the audience may also feel the same after seeing the story in the movie. The general ideas, which are the main themes and characters of the story, are the same. For example, Harry Potter is fantasy, regardless of whether it is read or seen in a movie. Both a book and a movie have a beginning, developing actions, and a conclusion or end. The stories are formed in the same structure regardless of whether it is a book or a movie.
On the other hand, reading books and watching movies give details in different ways, when reading the books, the reader has to open her mind to imagination. Books only show words and pictures of the story are imagined in the brain. Although, movies provide a particular image of the story to the public, and the public gains details through sight and hearing. The public can only see what is shown through the movies. Readers may have different reactions to the story, but the audience can only agree with the movies.
Therefore, reading books and watching movies makes readers or the public respond differently.
