This week we will make thesis statements that involve a cause and effect essay followed by an outline.

General topic ▶ The causes of divorces
Specific topic ▶ What are the main causes of divorces?

Introduction  (thesis statement)

• Many couples decide to divorce due to lack of communication, feeling trapped, and infidelity

P1-Lack of communication

• It is the main reason why a couple goes to therapy

• It may be that the sender does not know how to express herself clearly or that the receiver does not know how to listen

• They have a feeling of suffocation derived from the idea that they are not moving forward and that their partner is to blame
